LloydsPharmacy has opened its revamped store at Barnsley Interchange.
The store has been redesigned to improve access to free healthcare information and support for such issues as skin health and pain management.
The ribbon was cut by former employee Pam Brown, who had worked at the pharmacy for 25 years before retiring a year ago.
Pharmacy manager Faye Baggley, who leads a 22-strong team, said: “We are delighted to be a pioneer in a project that will do much to raise awareness of healthcare needs.
“What we want to do is help people discuss their health problems, offer support on how we can help them and how they can help themselves, all in relaxed surroundings where people can feel more comfortable talking about their concerns.”
