Fitness fanatics are set to walk the distance from Sheffield to the North Pole as part of a tough new fitness challenge.
More than 150 customers and staff from the Zest Centre in Upperthorpe will be joined by Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield for the Walking Challenge, which aims to encourage everyone taking part to walk a combined 4,000 kilometres.
As part of the centre’s four-week mission, people who sign up will be given a pedometer to record the number of steps they take each week.
Zest is a social enterprise which manages the centre – a healthy living hub housing a swimming pool, gym, exercise studio and community cafe, plus a public library, advice service and IT drop-in facility.
Chief executive Janet Skirrow said: “We’re hugely excited about this event.”
