Opticians in Sheffield city centre showed their support for blind veterans.

Staff at Specsavers on Pinstone Street invited former servicemen and women with vision impairment to visit, find out about charity Blind Veterans UK,

The veterans were given the chance to have their eyes tested and talk to people from the charity’s training centre in Ranmoor.

Store workers also held a Tarts for Troops tea party in store to raise money for the charity, whose centre on Fulwood Road in Sheffield serves the north of England.

Marie Spiro, of Specsavers, said: “We raised plenty of money for a worthy cause.”
