An online guide to diabetes has been launched by NHS Barnsley to encourage more people to talk and learn about the condition.
The guide includes useful advice about reducing the risk of diabetes. People can also find out how the condition is managed, what support and medicine is available.
A self-assessment test can tell you if you’re at risk of Type 2 diabetes - the most common form of the condition.
In Barnsley more than 12,000 people aged 17 and over live with diabetes.
Many who have diabetes are unaware that they have it.
Dr Renu Bindra, consultant in public health for Barnsley, said: “The sooner it is diagnosed, the sooner it can be controlled.
