A trio of advisors who help people diagnosed with cancer are spending a night on the streets to raise charity funds.
Julie Bellis, Julie Horsfield and Julie Marshall work for Barnsley Council as Macmillan advisors, providing free help which enables cancer patients to receive the maximum benefits to which they are entitled.
They are taking part in the Big Barnsley Sleep Out in aid of Macmillan, bedding down on the steps of the Town Hall from 8pm on September 16 to 8am the following morning.
Ms Bellis said it was a ‘sad reality’ that some patients end up homeless because of financial hardship.
