AN ORGANISATION charged with encouraging patient and public involvement in the NHS has organised a forum to discuss proposed changes.
Sheffield LINk has turned its May Discussion Forum into a ‘listening exercise’ designed to gather feedback on the Government’s proposals which would see PCTs scrapped and budgets handed to GP consortiums, while public health responsibilities would go to local councils.
The event takes place at The Circle in Rockingham Lane, city centre, from 11am until 1pm on Tuesday.
Simon Kirk, director of strategy and transition at NHS Sheffield, will present an overview of what is already happening in Sheffield. People will then be split into groups to discuss four themes, and Sheffield LINk will then gather the views collected and submit them to the NHS.
