Health bosses in Rotherham have gone abroad to recruit nurses – because they cannot find enough in the UK.
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust has started an overseas recruitment campaign to find talented nurses to work in the town.
Bosses at the trust admit there are not enough in the UK to meet demand.
Annmarie Talbot, assistant chief nurse at the trust, said: “The increase in demand for registered nurses outstrips supply from our own country .
“Therefore, like many other trusts, we are taking our recruitment campaign overseas.
“We continue to recruit experienced and newly qualified registered nurses both locally and nationally who share our passion for delivering high quality patient-centred care.”
