NEWS IN BRIEF: Good luck to Ed in gruelling challenge

BUSINESSMAN Ed Devanney is raising funds for Myeloma UK and awareness of the disease – a form of bone cancer – with a series of gruelling runs around the country.

The 31-year-old recruitment consultant from Sheffield lost an uncle to myeloma last year, and it was the work of the specialist medics that inspired Ed to raise funds. He has already completed the British 10k in London, the Hull 10k, the Leeds 10k and the York 10k. Now, he is preparing for the Great North Run - log on to to sponsor him.
