A WORLD class Olympic athlete from Sheffield has been unveiled as the new patron of Neurocare.
Nicola Minichiello, the most successful British bobsleigh athlete of the modern era, will join the city-based charity as patron alongside sports presenter, reporter and commentator Rob Walker.
Nicola, 33, competed in the last three Winter Olympics and won silver at the 2005 World Championships before winning gold with team-mate Gillian Cooke four years later at the World Championships in Lake Placid, New York.
She said: “I recently learned about the fantastic work Neurocare does for the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. I was invited to be a Neurocare patron and I think it’s a fantastic honour and an opportunity for me to help raise the profile of the charity.”
