THE charity tasked with enhancing the care and environment at Sheffield’s hospitals has got a new name.

The Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust, the organisation behind a host of high-profile fundraising campaigns included the Star-backed Cystic Fibrosis Appeal, will now be known as the Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

Bosses have just agreed a new five year business plan focusing on delivering further improvements to patient care in the NHS in Sheffield.

The name change is the first stage in the new plans, which will include the introduction of a new website – www.sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk in the next two weeks and two further members of staff taken on.

Charity director David Reynolds said: “With more widespread support from people and organisations in Sheffield we can do even more to transform the face of healthcare locally.”
