A Sheffield hospital has invested £1 million in a state-of-the-art MRI scanner.

BMI Thornbury Hospital, the largest private hospital in the city, had to hire a crane to lift the six tonne machine into place.

Kristian Campbell, Director of Operations at BMI Thornbury Hospital, said: “The MRI scanner will advance the hospital’s imaging and diagnostics services, and allow us to expand into new areas such as breast MRI scanning. The new equipment will give patients access to high quality care, from diagnosis to recovery.”
