A NEW walk-in centre for minor illnesses and ailments has opened in the city.
The old service at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital is now based at the Sheffield City GP Health Centre in Broad Lane.
It will be open from 8am until 10pm, 365 days a year, and people can walk in as an unregistered patient and see a GP or a nurse without an appointment.
The Minor Injuries Unit will remain at the Hallamshire Hospital to treat adults with minor sprains, cuts, bruises and minor burns. Children with minor injuries should continue to go to Sheffield Children’s Hospital A&E department for treatment.
Daniel Mason, lead in unscheduled care at NHS Sheffield, said: “The new NHS Walk-in Centre will be easier to get to and open longer to meet more patients’ needs.”
