Mum-to-be’s help for charity

a WOMAN who had a kidney transplant has spurred on her colleagues to raise cash for charity.

Cara Smith, manager of Alex Gage optometrist, Woodseats, received a kidney from her husband Carl in 2009.

She and colleagues raised £510 for Sheffield Area Kidney Association, which will pay for research into kidney-related diseases.

It was also a double celebration as expectant mum Cara is due to go on maternity leave at the end of this month, despite never expecting to be able to have children.
