THE legacy of a brave Sheffield woman who died from skin cancer continues to grow and grow.

Kirsty Winterbottom, from Sothall, passed away in August, aged just 30, leaving her husband David to bring up their three young sons on his own.

Just a month before she died, Kirsty took part in the Race for Life, raising more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Since Kirsty died her friends and family have collected more than £1,500 in further donations to the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Now that has grown even more as David’s sons’ school - Brookhouse Junior and Beighton Infant Nursery - has also got behind the cause.

The school has raised £829 to go to cancer research at Weston Park.
