MULTIPLE sclerosis patients from across South Yorkshire are being urged to sign up to a new global register of people living with the disease.
The MS Register has been launched this week during MS Week and is the world’s first database of information which includes input from patients themselves as well as from clinicians and other sources.
It has been set up by the MS Society charity and aims to develop a true picture of the impact of the condition on patients and their families.
Diane Blackham, vice chairman of the Rotherham and Sheffield branch, said: “The launch of the MS Register is really exciting news for everyone in Rotherham and Sheffield who is affected by MS.
“It’s our opportunity to find out more about the condition and, crucially, how it impacts people’s everyday lives.
“This powerful research tool has the potential to transform the delivery of care and support for people affected by MS in Rotherham and Sheffield.
“We urge everyone with MS in Rotherham and Sheffield to join the Register now at www.ukmsregister.org.uk Together we can put MS on the map.”
