A campaign to help encourage people to quit smoking has received support from a Doncaster MP.
Rosie Winterton is backing the Stoptober campaign run by Public Health England and will be at the ‘quit shop’ at 40 Scot Lane today from 11am pledging her support.
Rosie said: “Stoptober is a great campaign with fantastic resources available to help those who want to kick the habit.
“Experts say that by stopping smoking for just 28 days people are five times more likely to stop all together.”
The average number of smokers for the Yorkshire and the Humber region is 22.7 per cent, the highest prevalence of smoking for any region in the country.
