RUNNERS taking part in a popular race through the city will have extra time to hot foot it to the start line this October.
The Great Yorkshire Run takes place in Sheffield on October 9 and the official race start has now been extended by 30 minutes to 10am to allow more people to get into the city centre.
More than 60,000 people from across the country will visit the city centre to take part in the event and cheer loved ones on around the course. Event organiser John Mayock said: “We are expecting up to 10,000 runners from all across the country and extending the start time will allow more people to travel into the city centre on Sunday morning.”
Visit www.greatrun.org to sign up for the 10km, or the Mini and Junior runs which take place on the same day.
