THE NHS organisation which runs mental health services in Sheffield has been rated as one of the best performing health trusts in the country.
An independent study by the Health Service Journal named Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust in the top nine NHS trusts nationwide.
The trust - which provides mental health, learning disability, drug and alcohol services, primary care and other specialist services - was assessed on performance measures including the overall care it provides.
Kevan Taylor, chief executive of the trust, said: “As an organisation we are committed to providing the best possible care to all our service users, and to deliver care in an effective and efficient way.
“This study recognises the commitment of our staff who work hard across the trust to deliver high-quality care, and also the consistency of our approach to providing services to the people of Sheffield.”
