A FUND-RAISER will be pounding the pavements in a half marathon challenge in aid of the charity she works for.
Melanie Linnell, who works in the fundraising development team of the Guide Dogs for the Blind in the north, will run the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday, May 8.
It is the first time she has taken on a 13.1 mile run, having completed three 10km races, just over six miles.
She took up running after suffering from post natal depression following the birth of her first daughter. After having her second child, she decided to set her sights higher - and raise money for the charity she works for.
The 35-year-old now hopes to raise £500 in sponsorship through the event. Visit www.justgiving.com/Melanie-Linnell to sponsor her.
