Barnsley Hospital is inviting women to find out more about all aspects of their health at a coffee morning.
The event, which takes place on Saturday, March 2, from 10am to 2pm, in the outpatients area in Women’s Services, will have a particular focus on cervical screening and preventing cervical cancer.
Susan Wood, nurse colposcopist, who is organising the event, said: “In Barnsley, we do not see enough women taking up cervical screening, particularly in younger age groups.
“Our target is to see 80 per cent of women attending for smears, but we are not reaching that at the moment.
“It is important women take up the opportunity.”
