South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord is appealing for new volunteers to help support its expanding programme of work in the community.
Lost Chord provides musical experiences for people with dementia in care homes and day centres. The sessions all feature professional musicians and singers, but the charity also needs volunteer support to help events run smoothly and successfully.
Chief executive Helena Muller said: “We provide events in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster and all of them can only continue if we have the support of our dedicated team of volunteers.
“There really is nothing more uplifting than seeing a person who may not have spoken in years suddenly starting to sing along to a song they remember.”
All volunteers receive travel expenses. Visit www.lost-chord.org.uk
