Studio backs cancer hospital for 2014

A photography studio in Sheffield has chosen a good cause which helps city cancer patients as its chosen ‘charity of the year’.

Venture Photography, on Chesterfield Road, Woodseats, hopes to raise at least £1,000 for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity over the next 12 months.

The studio picked the hospital as it has provided treatment for a number of customers.

Colin McCrory, who owns the firm’s Sheffield branch, said: “Weston Park was an obvious choice because of the hope and support it provides to so many cancer sufferers and their families. This is the perfect opportunity for us to give something back.

“The whole Sheffield team is looking forward to holding some entertaining, fundraising activities to raise extra cash.”

Other Venture studios across the country have picked charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and Cancer Research UK.

Richard Mayfield, the company’s creative director, said: “Our studios will be raising money in a number of creative ways – we’re hoping to see everything from marathons to sponsored silences, and charity calendars to even free pop-up studio sessions.”
