Staff from a freight management firm have helped to raise more than £6,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance - after cycling the equivalent distance from Sheffield to northern Russia.

Workers at 512, based at the Sheffield International Freight Terminal in Tinsley, rode for 70 hours on static bikes at the company’s office, covering over 2,000 miles.

The initial goal was 1,000 miles, but with support clients and other firms, the group doubled their target.

Karen Mosley, head of business development at 512, said: “We are delighted with the amount of money we have raised.”
