Sheffield woman inspired to fundraise by her mum

Marie Osborne aims to add a little glamour to fundraising for her favourite charity as she organises a Masquerade Ball in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.

Marie, who lives in Handsworth, discovered for herself how important the work of Sheffield’s only hospice is when mum Rose Nowak became a patient last Christmas.

And it was as a result of that personal experience Marie set herself the challenge of fundraising for the hospice, starting with a swimathon at Aston-cum-Aughton Leisure Centre that raised £2,000.

Her next venture is a masquerade ball at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria on October 18. Tickets £40 to include a drinks reception, three course meal with half bottle of wine, entertainment and disco. Call 0114 269 5774.
