A Sheffield fitness coach has embarked on an epic charity challenge – to run and cycle around the coast of Britain.
Kris King, who runs a gym on Manchester Road, Crosspool, is raising money for Huntington’s disease by carrying out the 2,500-mile trek through 22 100-mile bike rides and 12 marathons in 34 days.
The 26-year-old, who aims to raise £20,000, said: “The challenge is to raise funds and awareness for the rare genetic disease. My friend’s dad, who died recently, suffered from it.
“I’m loving the adventure.”
Kris set off from Blackpool on May 22 and headed to Scotland. This week he is making his way along England’s south coast, before finishing in Sheffield on Sunday with a welcome home party at The Wagon and Horses at Oxspring between 1pm and 11pm, featuring live bands.
