A Sheffield care home has been told to make improvements by the health watchdog after inspectors raised fears over poor safety standards.

Carrwood House, in Grimesthorpe - which looks after adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems - was visited unannounced by the Care Quality Commission, which said facilities were in need of ‘repair, renovation and maintenance’ and that staff and residents were ‘at risk of accidents and harm’.

A report said inspectors arrived during building work and found a lack of warning signs, as well as not enough ‘organisation and preparation’.
