Forget red and green - the halls will be decked in red and white when Sheffield United make a festive visit.

Blades stars are making Christmas brighter for patients at Weston Park Cancer Hospital during an annual meet and greet today.

Staff at Bramall Lane have been busy preparing goodie bags filled with gifts for the players to dish out to people battling illness through the festive period.

Club sponsors Redtooth, GAC, Westfield, Kennedys, Quick Quid, Shebang and City Taxis have all dipped into their pockets to provide presents for patients.

The visit is raising awareness for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity’s Christmas Star Appeal, which encourages people to donate at this time of year.

n See The Star tomorrow for pictures of the Blades players’ visit.
