The last time Rotherham cycling enthusiasts Gary Willoughby, Scott Stretton and their friends hit the road for dementia charity Lost Chord, they raised £1,300.

Now they’re back in the saddle and aiming to raise even more money for the charity that provides interactive musical experiences for people with dementia in care homes and day centres.

This year’s cycle challenge – part of the Sky Ride series of events – will be a 98-mile round journey, starting and finishing at the Lost Chord headquarters in Maltby on September 27.

“We’ve done several bike rides for charity and when we heard about the work of Lost Chord and how important music is in the lives of people living with dementia we knew we wanted to do something to help,” said Gary. “We raised £1,300 last year so we’d like to do even better this time – and the more people we have taking part, the more likely we are to beat our target.”
