Health visitors and staff from Doncaster’s Children Centres are hitching a ride on a bus….to make it easier for families to visit them.
The staff, who work for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), will be with the RDaSH health bus on Clay Lane, Doncaster, on the last Thursday afternoon of each month. The bus will be used as a drop-in centre for families with pre-school age children.
The new drop-in will be launched on May 22 between 1pm and 3pm and families in the area are invited to call in and see the staff. The bus will be parked in the lay-by next to the Working Men’s Club on Shackleton Road.
One of the Community Nursery Nurses who will be on the health bus, Andrea Beioley, said: “The Beak Children Centre staff are supporting us and each month different professionals will be invited along to these sessions including Sexual Health Nurses, members of the Smoking in Pregnancy Team and Children’s Dental Health staff.
“Everyone is welcome to attend, please come along and see us.”
