Barnsley East MP Michael Dugher is backing the British Heart Foundation’s Ramp up the Red campaign which aims to raise awareness of coronary heart disease.

The disease is a serious danger in Barnsley where the number of early deaths caused by heart disease and strokes is significantly worse than the English average.

Mr Dugher is urging people to visit the BHF shop in Barnsley, which raises funding for research and projects.

He said: “Over the past year, money raised through BHF shops has helped fund a number of brilliant community projects which will help people save lives, give hope to patients and carers, and promote heart health.”
