The People in Pharmacy Branch Manager of the Year title 2012 was awarded to Pharmacist Richard Shemwell from The Co-operative Pharmacy at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

A CHEMIST at The Co-operative Pharmacy in Doncaster is celebrating after scooping a coveted People in Pharmacy award for his contribution to the local community.

The 2012 Branch Manager of the Year title was presented to Richard Shemwell. He beat nominees at a ceremony in Manchester from across The Co-operative network of more than 700 branches.

Richard, who was instrumental in setting up an outpatient dispensing pharmacy at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, was recognised for always striving to get the best results for patients.

He was praised by bosses for being supportive of colleagues, and is said to have developed strong relationships with healthcare professionals at the DRI to ensure they are happy with the service.

He said: “It is great to be recognised for our efforts in setting up the new dispensary, which has reduced waiting times for patients.”
