A TRADITIONAL nativity scene has been unveiled at St Catherine’s Church in Balby, thanks to the hard work of people with learning disabilities who attend a Doncaster day service.

The Workscheme, run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, enables service users to engage in gainful employment by providing them with a variety of useful skills including woodwork and gardening.

Leader Patrick Sherry said: “A great deal of time and effort has been put into making the figures, which are all crafted from wood and painted by hand. We hope our nativity scene will inspire and encourage everyone.”
