South Yorkshire’s top boyband star, Louis Tomlinson, has fundraising for the county’s only children’s hospice all bagged up and ready to go...
Louis, one-fifth of pop phenomenon One Direction, is supporting Bluebell Wood hospice, in North Anston, by lending his signature to a new appeal.
A limited-edition ‘Louis Bag’ has just been released, featuring the singer’s autograph and the charity’s logo.
The performer, from Bessacarr, Doncaster, is a patron of the hospice, and the bag will be available online and in all eight Bluebell Wood shops around the region.
Louis said: “I’m so pleased to be able to support Bluebell Wood, my local charity, by putting my name on the bag.
“I really hope it raises loads of money for this fantastic charity.”
James Bower, retail manager at the children’s hospice, added: “This bag is an ideal opportunity for us to reach some of our younger supporters. We always try to think of unique ideas and gifts for our stores, so it’s great to have the help of Louis with this bag.
“Our eight shops are crucial in helping with fundraising and we receive great support from the local community through donations of items to sell in-store.”
And Claire Rintoul, the charity’s chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled to have Louis as one of our patrons. He has really helped to raise our profile, not just locally but internationally.
“The bags are a great opportunity for us to raise much needed-funds as our current running costs are over £3 million per year and we receive less than five per cent in statutory funding.”
