Free help to quit smoking

HEALTH workers will be visiting a supermarket tomorrow to persuade shoppers who smoke to quit the habit.

Staff from the NHS Stop Smoking Service will be at Sainsbury’s on Rother Way, Chesterfield, offering advice from 9am to 1pm. The team will also be offering free carbon monoxide monitoring and lung function testing.

Programme manager Tina Jones said she wanted the mobile service to ‘reach as many people as possible’.

“We know that smokers are up to four times more likely to succeed if they have help,” she said. “Our team is friendly and helpful and we’d encourage anybody to come and have a chat.”
