A charity football match in Sheffield raised £1,295.10 for Cancer Research.

The event at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough Football Stadium was organised by friends Gareth Day and Stef Chapman in memory of their grandparents who all lost battles with cancer.

Gareth’s grandmother Josephine whittingham died from throat cancer one year earlier.

He said he was delighted with the event.

“It was a huge success and raised a lot of money,” he added.
