A pair of very special guests joined staff and supporters of a hospice to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Ashgate Hospice, in Chesterfield, marked the milestone birthday by hosting a service at the town’s Crooked Spire Church, and the guests of honour included the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, pictured above, far left and right, with chief executive Lucy Nickson and hospice board chair Jean Horton.
The hospice charity provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care to people across North Derbyshire and parts of the Peak District, looking after thousands of patients every year.
The hospice needs to raise £3.5 million each year to fund its services.
Healthcare watchdog the Care Quality Commission recently gave Ashgate good marks following an inspection.
