People in Sheffield are being urged to donate blood to replenish stocks as winter approaches.
The city centre donation facility on Church Street now has space for more volunteers to give blood, and city residents are being encouraged to book appointments or walk in during their spare time.
Holly Mason, lead donor relations manager at NHS Blood and Transplant said: “We welcome new and existing donors to give blood and we will do our best to ensure everyone who wants to donate is seen as quickly as possible.
“By donating blood you can help us keep the stock levels stable as we approach the colder months.”
Hospitals in England and Wales need 7,000 units of blood every day, and each donation can potentially save the lives of up to three people.
First time donors should be aged between 17 and 65, must weight at least 7st 12lbs and be in generally good health.
