Autism support worker up for national care award

A SHEFFIELD woman dedicated to caring for people with learning disabilities and autism has been shortlisted for a national award.

Diane Round, a manager with not-for-profit service Dimensions, is up for a Great British Care award, honouring the best in the sector across UK support services.

Diane has been a loyal employee of Dimensions for the past 25 years and currently oversees the work of its branches in Hillsborough and Highgreave. The nomination came as a bolt from the blue for modest Diane.

She said: “It’s nice to know I have been forward for this. But it’s just my job at the end of the day and I love it.”

There are nine regional awards, the winners of which will be put forward for the national final which takes place next year.

Steve Scown, chief executive of Dimensions, said: “Diane’s hard work and dedication to personalise support for people with learning disabilities and autism allows people we support to lead the life they choose.”
