A WOMAN whose father died suddenly from heart disease is taking on a series of charity challenges in memory of her dad.
Laura Inglis kicks off her fundraising campaign tomorrow which will see her take part in three runs and a cycle-athon in aid of Heart Research UK.
The 25-year-old, from Crookes, Sheffield, will take part in the Run in the Park around Graves Park, followed by a six-hour supermarket cycle challenge later this month.
Then in September she will take on the Great North Run half marathon, before finishing with the Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield in October.
She is doing it all in memory of her father Allan, who died aged 62, from a heart attack last August.
Laura said her mammoth fundraising effort was her way of trying to help.
She said: “My dad’s heart attack came completely out the blue, he had no history of heart-related illnesses and it was a terrible shock for me and my family.
“I am doing this because I know my dad wouldn’t want me to mope around and because heart disease affects so many people, I just want to try and help.”
