Keep a check on your heart

Doncaster’s community cardiac services team are encouraging residents to monitor their own heart health with a quick and easy pulse check.

A know your pulse two-minute film has been produced by the Arrythmia Alliance, and the local community cardiac service, run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, is keen to promote its use among Doncaster residents.

The guide teaches people a simple guide on how to take their pulse, what it means, when they should check it and when it is advisable to seek medical investigation.

People can watch it online at www.knowyourpulse.org or the team have a number of DVDs to give away, which can be collected from Cantley Health Centre.
