CAMPAIGNERS supporting Motor Neurone Disease sufferers have received the backing of Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield - at the launch of a Parliamentary report calling for better care.
The Labour politician is vice chairman of a cross-party group of MPs who examine the quality of NHS provision for MND patients.
The All Party Parliamentary Group launched its report into palliative care for people with the condition at an event attended by Jane Evans, representing the South Yorkshire branch of the MND Association, to launch a report.
Mr Blomfield said: “The inquiry found specialist palliative care for people with MND is patchy at best and can be very poor indeed. However, there are pockets of good practice from which we can learn to improve provision.”
