Hundreds of people are expected to take part in a Day of Action to support the NHS across South Yorkshire this weekend.
Local campaigners will be meeting at different locations across Sheffield on Saturday as part of the national initiative designed to prevent the privatisation of the health service.
Similar events will also be held in Rotherham, Chesterfield and Barnsley.
More than 9,000 people are expected to take part in the national protests, organised by campaign group 38 Degrees.
Over 340,000 people have signed the campaign group’s NHS petition.
David Babbs, executive director of 38 Degrees said: “This day of action should send a clear message to politicians: you’re being watched by millions of us fighting to protect our NHS.”
