ST LUKE’S Hospice will mark 40 years of support with a Service of Celebration and Remembrance at Sheffield Cathedral on Sunday, December 11.

The event, which begins at 2.30pm, will feature a selection of Christmas carols and readings, and performances from Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, Stannington Brass Band, the Senior Choir of Sheffield High School and Anthony Gowing, Assistant Director of Music at Sheffield Cathedral.

“Our annual service is always a very special occasion,” said St Luke’s Chaplain the Rev Captain Mike Reeder.

He added: “But as we celebrate our 40th anniversary, this year promises to be even more memorable and there will be members of staff and volunteers from all four decades taking part, bringing the names of all the many people we are remembering to the highaltar as part of the service.”
