A CONSERVATION group in a Sheffield village is unveiling two new information boards to help people learn about the area’s industrial heritage.
The panels have been installed in Ecclesfield, and will also be accompanied by colour leaflets available free in shops and the local library.
Each of the boards tells stories about Ecclesfield’s working past, and have been written with help from historians Mel and Joan Jones.
The first panel is being officially unveiled on December 1 at 10am at the entrance to Ecclesfield Park, followed shortly afterwards by the second, located at the junction of Mill Road and Church Street.
Refreshments will be served afterwards in St Mary’s Church.
Funding for the information panels was provided by the East Peak Industrial Heritage Support Programme.
The conservation group was set up in 2008 and holds regular meetings to discuss neighbourhood issues.
