Heart tests are to be carried out at Bramall Lane in a bid to save lives.

A screening session is to be held on Thursday, August 6 aimed at reducing young sudden cardiac death.

The session will be run by Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), which works to reduce deaths and supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions.

Blades manager Nigel Adkins said: “It is difficult to believe that so many young people die due to undiagnosed heart conditions.

“Screening is one of the medical tests we routinely carry out on our young players as it is a valuable tool which allows us to pick up potential problems early.”

People between 14 and 35 can book a free heart test by visiting www.testmyheart.org.uk
