RESIDENTS worried about the potential loss of a life-saving heart surgery unit used by children from South Yorkshire have one month left to share their concerns.
The Children’s Heart Surgery Unit at Leeds General Infirmary is being threatened with closure through a government a shake up of heart services across the NHS.
There are currently four options on the table, but only one allows for the Leeds facility to remain open. If it is closed, patients and their parents would have to travel to Newcastle or Birmingham for treatment.
Residents now have one month left to make their concerns known. Visit www.thepetitionsite.com/6/help-to-save-ward-10-childrens-cardiac-lgi/ to sign an online petition or www.ipsos-mori.com/safeandsustainable to respond the consultation.
