A FREE fun day will be held in Doncaster later this month to encourage people to get fit and active.
The event, organised by health visitors who work for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Trust, will be held at Armthorpe Community Centre, Church Street, on February 12 between 10am and 3pm.
On the day nurses will be carrying out blood pressure and cholesterol checks, there will be keep fit sessions, baby massage, a sleep clinic where you can get tips on how to get a good night’s rest and how to deal with wide-awake toddlers, a healthy cooking workshop, and a catering demonstration by students from Doncaster College, information on food labelling and much more.
Sally Bainbridge, one of the health visitors, said: “Everyone is welcome.
“We are hoping the event will give people tips on how to exercise and cook healthily as well as finding out information on other health issues such as blood pressure and a lack of sleep.”
