A party in the park in Sheffield with a falconry display and performances by dance groups will raise money for children with burns.

It is the fifth annual party to raise funds for Theo’s Burn’s Club, which supports burns patients at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Live music, visits from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Theo the Bear, African drumming and a raffle will be at the party in Endcliffe Park on Sunday, between 10am and 4pm.

Lindsay Marris, family support nurse at Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and event organiser, said: “Burn injuries don’t just have a physical impact.

“These children also have to deal with scarring and the effects that can have on friendships and their time at school.

“Their treatment can be quite complex and painful and involve numerous operations over many years.

“That’s why the work of Theo’s Burns Club is vital. It helps children rebuild their confidence and we can be there to support them beyond their time on the unit.”
