Women are being urged to do their bit to help beat cancer by signing up early for Sheffield’s Race For Life event – which is now open for entries.
The 5k race take place at Meadowhall on Sunday, June 8, in aid of Cancer Research UK, with all proceeds going towards funding lifesaving studies.
In 2013, more than 4,300 women took part in Sheffield, raising over £230,000.
This year, organisers want 4,500 ladies to stride out and raise £235,000.
Laura Taylor, the charity’s Sheffield events manager, said: “It’s not about being fit or fast. Most women are able to walk 5k in an hour while chatting and having fun, or they can choose to jog, run or even dance around the course.”
