A DONCASTER based charity stages its biggest fundraising night of the year this evening.
Firefly is holding its annual cabaret night at the Doncaster Dome, with cash raised from the event going towards paying for a bus service for cancer patients.
The charity already runs one service between Doncaster and Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield for patients who need to travel for treatment.
Now it is fundraising to pay for a second shuttle service.
The buses are driven entirely by volunteers.
Tonight’s event will feature singers as well as a fashion show.
Those taking part are people who have suffered from cancer.
Firefly organiser Denise Dunn said: “We’re desperate to get another bus because demand for the service is so high.”
Doors open at 7pm with the evening’s entertainment beginning at 7.30pm.
